CHRISTCHURCH centre. EASTER TOURNAMENT. The annual Easter P-ink Tournament of the Christchurch Centre of the Dominion of New Zealand Bowling Association commenced yesterday morning. Tho ontry, which wa3 much larger than previous years, contained rinks from prncticully every -clyb in the city and suburbs, whilo Timaru and Methvon were also represented. When play commenced in the, morning tho weather conditions wcro perfect, but later on in the day tho wind caused some trouble on one or two of tho greens. The playing surfaces of tn© "rceii3 were 6:11 that could he desired, anu reflected tho greatest credit on tho green keepers and green superintendents. The whole of the arrangements wcro under th» charge of the secretary, Mr D. E. Wood, and were excellently carried out. On ill? fat. Albans green, two most exciting finishes were witnessed in the first round. One of iheia was between Bamett (Canterbury) and slcKenzia (United), tho latter winning by one point after two burnt heads. Page (Lyttelton) mado a- very bad start against Bartlett (Edgeware). On the tenth head Bartlett was 14 tc- Page's 1. The Lytt-elton skip, then scored on five successive heads, and on the sis-tcentn the sdo res were 15 all.
