BIG GATHEBING OF MAOBIS. ' . (press association telegram.) WANGANUI, April 12. Hundred's of Maoris from all parts of Now Zealand have been congregating at itatana'e homestead again, a,nd to-day close on 100 from the South Island armed. It is calculated that fully 2000 are under canvas. A big religious meeting is to be held on Good Friday, and on the days to follow Ratana's work will be discussed. It is stated a proposal is to be made that Ratana Should extend his ministry tiona to the paiceha. Although little has been heard lately concerning Ratana, quite a large number of sick Maoris have been seeking help from him, and in almost every oase cores by faith have eventuated. It is reported that the covenant to discard tohungas, witchcraft, and particularly intemperance, has been signed by Over 70C0 Maoris.
