They had.' thrilling experiences, being cast ashore at the foot of towering cliffs which they, managed to scaleThey were without clothes, bootej or food. They met a tribe of wild, nercolooking natives, who, however K treated them well, and supplied tlhem with food. They then smarted to walk to Port Keats/6Q miles distant. The iourney occupied three days. Their only food was shell-fell and a bag of-flour found on the beach, They were terribly tortured, in their. nude condition, by inyriads of mosquitoes and other insects. Failing to Sands walked hack tovPoiiit;Peiircc : .'. Bestwick. was too exhausted to make the journey. Sands induced: the dripper of a. Malay launch to .return and rescue Bestwick.
