EEPBESENTATION ON CENTRAL BOARD. Matters regarding the representation of the old Woolston Fire Brigade on the Chrhtchurch Fi»a Board were briefly discussed at-last right's meeting ©i the Christehurch Fire Board. Th'e town o'.erk (Mr H. K. Bmith) wrote, under direction from the' Mayor, stating that the Beard's' letter on the subject did not contain an answer to tho City Council's enquiry as to the Board's reason for objecting to a representative of Woolston being appointed to the Board. The Mayor considered that the Counoil, which provided practically half the Board's revenue, was entitled to be supplied with a reply. Mr K. B. Rnsbridge moved: "That the letter b» received." ■ Jit H. Holland: I have no objection to stating my reasons, but the letter u to the 'Board ana not to me. .Mr A. Manning; said that the Boards previous letter expressed the opinion that the Board was fully representative of Woolston. The chairman: I will give them my reason if they a»k me. Mr P. H. Harris asked if the Board was supposed to supply the Government, or the City Council, or the insurance companies with the reasons that prompted it in arriving at its. decisions. He seconded the motion. The chairman said that the Council would be .quite within - its rights to ask its own representative, and if it did so its own representative would be prepared to give the information. The motion was agreed to. ' pia l cuperintendant, in the course of his report, said that every facility was- being offered the ez-auziUary members of the Woolston Fire Brigade to join up with the City Brigade. The Woolston plant had been taltsn to headquarters, and when the motor had' been overhauled it would be returned to, the station. The matter of the ex-auxiliary members •of the Woolston Brigade was referred to the executive.
