PXCTUBE AT THEATBE EOYAL. Messrs J. C. Williamson, Ltd., will present tho great Griffiths production "Way Down East" at the Theatre Royal on Wednesday next, fox ft season limited to ten nights. A large symphony orchestra travels with'the drama, as well as a company of effect* men, electricians* and mechanrcs. Tho special score is in itself an evening's entertainment. Following on a foity-four weeks' season on Broadway, it has run at the Empire Theatre, London, for eix months, and is •till tunning. These seasons are on a scale of prices which would not be believed in New Zealand. >A returned Now Zealander mentioned that he paid 8s 6d for a poor seat in London for "Way Down East." The presentation' «t the Theatre Royal is to oe on exactly the same ecale as on Broadway or Leicester square, the American representative for I4r Griffiths, having journeyed out to Australasia to produce it personally. As to the play itself there are no two opinions. It is recognised as the greatest yet. constructed for the silver sheet, full of dramatic strength, unfolding a gripping human story and reaching a climax which is said to bu the finest yet imagined hy any I producer.
