The professional Eculling championship of Now Zealand was decided on tho Wuirau today, in splendid rowing weather, tho water being smooth all tho way. Fcgwcll, tho holder, got tho better of tho start, rowing at slightly quicker stroke than Hajrrten, the challenger, who had soino trouble with his left scull. Fogwell had eaiublished a lead of half a length at tho endoosf s a mile. Tho challenger then drew up and passed his opponent, and going away scon had tho race in hand, winning by ten lengths.
