OANTEBBTOY ASSOOIATXOS, VThe Management Committee of the Canterbury Cricket Aesooiation met yesterday afternoon. Present—Messrs "W. Simpson (chairman), R. B. ,Wwd, C. A. Thompson* M. 0. Sinclair, A.Grant, W. L. King, *od E. E. .Luttrell (hon. secretary). : . The South Canterbury Cricket Association wrote asking if there were any chance of arranging a match at Timara with tjio Canterbury Association before the close of tho season. If such a match were arranged, the Canterbury Association., would not be expected to send a strong -team, but one that would make an interesting game. It was decided to reply that the Canterbury Association regretted that it was unable to send a team this year, but would, endeavour to play a match next year when* the Canterbury team was ©n it» way to play Otago at Dunedin. Mr King suggested that a private team, might visit Timaru, with the sanction of the Association, the team to pay its own ex"penses, and Mr Thompson 'moved ae an amendment, that, as Mr Luttrell was' taking a team on tour at Easter, the matter of that team's arranging a match at Timaru be left in the hands of Mr, Luttrell. Tho amendment was lost on the casting vote of the chairman. Mr Ward, the treasurer, reported that tho Otago-Canterbury t match had resulted in a credit balance of £136 la Bd, which meant that Canterbury "topped the pole" ae far as profits were concerned this year.' Of that amount the New Zealand Council would receive £6 16a Id, and the Otago Association £4O 16s 4d. ' * . The report was received with satisfaction. AECHBOLD BEOS. V.
