The United States Lawn Tennis Association has announced that it -will' Suggest that the preliminary Davis Clip mulches •be played in the various countries of Europe, pointing out that the .primary object oi the David Cup tournament is to assist to spread an interest in lawn tennis throughout the world. Ii was at. first thought that it would involve a minimum of expense if* the first and second round matches were played ia the United States, but it ia now felt that additional ctpentes would be/ thereby incurred which would not be justified* ' It is announced that the dates set for the completion of the matches are:—First ties by June 24th, second) by July 15th, semi-finals by July 29th, and the final by August Bsh.
