The shipbuilding negotiations have definitely broken down, and the conference delegates who have been sitting tit the Ministry for Bcveral dnya are returning to their homes in the pro* vinces. The men's lenders rejected a proposal for a ballot upon tho employers' offor to reduce wages by 10s 6d a week now, and by a furthor 6b the 29th, leaving tho rerrmining 10s in abeyance.
The Amalgamated Engineering Union is distributing £200,000 in lock-out pay.
BUILDERS' WAGE SEDUCTION. (Received March 19th, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, March 17. A provisional settlement has been ranched in the building industry, under which the unions agree to a reduction of 2d per hour Irom April Ist, and will submit to a ballot of their members a further reduction of 2d at the beginning of June.
