RACING AT KEDOUFFS. l'tvo races, under the auspiceo of Um Ghriskkurch Sailing 1 and Power float Club, Were decided at Hedoii& on Saturday. Tho duy wus ideal for sailing-, there being a tooderlt-b daStefly. The first race Was til 6 fifth of a series for the Cu tattings Mothorial Oup for yachts 18ft and over. Eleven boats . competed. The ccurse was froili the club shed to tho Heathcote buoy, i cdtsjiitating a run before the wind. Tho first to round w&a Wanii, followed by I'e Atai, Alpha, and Swallow. Then followod a teat to the tripod, thence a lead to the-Avon buoy. To Arai was first about. Maintaining her lead 1o the buoy in the outer channel and on tJio run and beat home, Te Arai held her advantage and w&3 fii'st across tho line, but lost on time allowance.
In the sixth raco for tho Beanland Cup, in which 1G craft under 18ft competed, Seapup was the first to round, tho Heathcote buoy, which was leached' aftor a run from tk< etartiiig point. Omega- and Naomi were the next to cOmo al>oiit. All were close hauled to flic buoy in the outer channel. A short nm und beat completed tho course. As in the first race, a limit boat won easily on time allowance. .A* a. result of 111© rac<s9, Te Arai with 117 paint-s, is leading in Ui<: contest for the Cumminge Memorial Cup and Breeze heads tho list for tho Bca-nland Cup with 57 points. The judge's placinga were:— • Over 18ft.
