An address on Melanesia-, illu«tTat*«l by lantern elides, w«8 piven by Bishop Steward on Wedneedav, in Holy Trinity Sunday School. St. Saviour's Churoh rai well represented, and tho hall w well filled. The Bishop epoke o»' the mannera and euanom* of ihe Melaneritina, and the wrk ol the Mission. The slides were beautifully coloured, and gave aw excellent idea of the scenery and work. At the conclusion, * heartv vote of thanks to the Biehop wa» passedi, end after a collection, which Amounted to U 25, was taken, up, the Bishop pronounced the Benediction. PLUNK.ET SOCIETY. A successful social afternoon was civen on Wednesday, in the Kilwinainff Lodgs-room, br the committee of the Lyttelton branch of the Plunkot Society. The president, Mrj B. H. Gilmour, received, the gnesta, and introduced Nurse "Wilson, -who gave on interesting address. While afternoon tea. w»* beine served, Nurse "Wilson interviewed eaoH mother in turn,, and *ave helpful advio* r?gardios the babies. The oommitt** intend holding * similar afternoon once a month. Tho committee held its monthly meetittj at the close of tho gathering, when H was resolved to hold ft jurobls «•»<». *»»• funds to further the work of the Society m Lrttelton.
