BOARD Or CONTROL. The Lancaster Park Board of Controlmet yesterday. Prcsent-Hr Chas. Clark (chairman),, Dr. Thacker, M.P., and Messrs S V. Wilson, A. Dey, W. Simpson,. B. B.Wart, H. H. Wauchop,- A. McPhail, and H. •»• Gould (eecretary). , It was decided to advise the Cricket Asrelation that the Parkwoull be free £ the match between the North and South is lands on March 10th, 12th, and "in Permission was granted to play the annual, football match between the MawaU. and Alhambra, clubs on Lancaster Park on Easter S The "commissioner of Taxes wrote stating that the Board would be <=ha.rged /ll "' c ° me 0 , tax on its income of last year, viz., £l6l 0s 9d. It was decided to pay the tax under pro'Tne Canterbury Cricket Association wrote protesting against the Board's decision to take theT whole of the proceeds from the motor enclosure, and not to make them part of the gate. i ~ ~ A discussion took place regarding the point of whether or not the takings from such a source should not be part of the Kate money. .... j On the motion of Dr. Thacker it was decided to receive the letter. Mr Dey gave notice to move that the Board's previous decision regarding the takings should be rescinded. • ' The Town Clerk wrote stating that, with referenco to the outstanding rates ott the Park for 1920-21, and the Board's request that the matter should be held up pending a re-valuation of the Park under the new Act, the Act would not operate for the years 1920-21 or the 1921-22 rating years, as the Act would not be retrospective. He had now received definite instructions to proceed for the recovery, 60 that judgment would be obtained to secure the Christohurch City Council for the amount. On the- motion of Mr Wauchop it was decided that a deputation, consisting of Messrs Wilding, Clark, and Orchard,-should wait on the City Council with a view to a reduction being made. «. It was decided to grant the free use of the Park to the Nurse Maudo Association on a week day, for the purpose of augmenting the Association's funds. The financial statemont showed trfo receipt* to ba £586 7a- lOd, and the. expenditure £526 12e lid.
