DEPARTURE FOB NEW ZEALAND. (Br C»VU—Pmw Association—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) SYDNEY, December 30. The New South Wales State Orchestra sailed for New Zealand on Thursday. It is announced that Mr Verbrugghen. the conductor, is going on six months' recuperative leave immediately tihe New Zealand tour concludes. His medical advisers recommend a visit to Europe,. but his friends fear that he will not return to Australia. The Orchestral Guarantee Fund Committee is sceptical, and has applied to the Gfoverumens for a refund of the £SOOO guarantee. (Received December 30th, 11.5 p»m.) SYDNEY, December 30. M. Terbrugghen, in a wireless message, refutes the suggestion that he will not return after the expiration of his six months' leave. The Hon. T. D. Mutch, Minister for Education, says the continuance of the orchestra depends on the willingness of the guarantors to accept another conductor during M. Verbrugghen's absence. .
