AIR SERVICES.
« — : GISBORNE WELL CATERED FOE. (CFBCUI. TO "188 GISBORNE, December 30. With the arrival of an Avro airplane belonging to Walsh Bros., Auckland, in Gisborne this morning, there are now in town' representatives of two aviation firms, a machine from the Canterbury Aviation Co., piloted by Captain L. H. Brake, having arrived here over a week ago. The Walsh Bros.' machine, which arrived at noon to-day from Wairoa, was piloted by Captain Fowler, who was accompanied by Lieut. Tatton. Walsh Bros, recently took over Lieut. Tatton's aerodrome at their intention then being, eaid Lieut. Tatton this morning on his arrival here, to establish a regular service between Gisborne, Wairoa, and Hastings. The service they proposed to run would be carried on by means of D.H.9 machines and supermarine flying boats. Captain Brake has announced that the Canterbury Company is sending immediately to Gisborne a D.H.9 machine, carrying three passengers, for the purpose of instituting long-distance flights. It is proposed to have a regular service, leaving Gisborne at 7 a'm., and connecting at Hastings with the mail train for Wellington, returning in the evening, lifter the arrival of the j Wellington mail at Hastings.
