FIRES.

The Fire Brigade was called out yesterday to 133 Holly road, St. Albans, where a six-roomed house was on fire. Mr J. H. Mayo was the owner and occupier of the houso, of which the fir© had obtained a good hold prior to the Brigade's arrival, in consequence of which a considerable amount of damage was done, practically none of the contents being saved. It is thought that the outbreak started in the kitchen. The building was insured for £4OO in the, London and i Lancashire ajfice. but there was no policy on the .furniture, etc.
