MOUNT MULLIGAN DISASTER. (By Cable—Pre«» Association—Copyright.) (Au«trtli»n and Iv'.E. Chui« Association.; BRISBANE, December 3. The Mount Mulligan Commission lias reported that the cause of the disaster was the firing of explosive on top of a level, block which had fallen, and in a machine cut in the lode. Tho explosive was not placed in a shot-hole. The Commission also finds that explosives were distributed, carried, and stored underground in a careless manner, and there was no adequate safeguard to render dußt harmless, as was required by the regulations. ALLEGATIONS DENIED. • (Received December 4th, 5.5 p.m.} SYDNEY, December 4. While undor examination by the Wheat CoTimission, Georgt»son is reported to have said he paicT the election expenses of Iho Hon. 6. Cann, State Minister for Mines, when* he was a candidate for the Federal Parliament. Mr Cann gives the statement an emphatic denial.
▲ RESIGNATION.
MELBOURNE, December 3. Mr Gregory has resigned the deputy leadership of the Country Party through a disagreement with the members over the agreement which thp party made with Air Hughes respecting the adjournment of the House of Representatives before Christmas.
