Sir Joseph Ward and Sir Francis Boys were passengers from Wellington by "Saturday morning's ferry Bteamer. Commander T. A. McKay, the ex-pole vaulter, has been appointed manager of the Wellington team of athletes to com-| pete at the New Zealand championship meeting at Christchurch this week. Mr Martin Francis presided and in a happy speech wished Mr Godward on behalf of the Board tnd of the shareholders a very pleasant and successful trip, and assured him that he carried with him the good wishes of a large number of people who were interested in his invention. OUier directors who spoke in eulogistic terms of Mr Godward's devotion to the interests of the company were Messrs G. T. Booth, Walter J. Wood and M. Sunderson. Messrs H. J. Ranger and Treleaven, on behalf of tho motor trade and Messrs McLaren and AValtcr .Johnston on behalf of the shareholders, also, wished him bon voyage.
