' ». CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. The Christchurch Defence Rifle Club held its second long range competition on Saturday. The match consisted of sercn shots at 800 yds, and seven at lOOCyds. As the scores indicate, the weather conditions' were the reverse of favourable. Combined with an extremely dull light, a strong and bitterly cold sou'-weater blowing across the range niado it difficult to keep on the target, and ruissss war© numerous.. P. H. PoweJ cauio out the winner, and his score of 30 out of a possible 25 points at lOOOydfl, was a meritorious one. The preaident, J. A. Lummis, was runner-up. Following were aome of the leading scores:
■KAIAPOI y. CaRTSTCHUKCH. A match was fired at Kaiapoi on Saturday afternoon between the Kaiapoi Defence Rifle Olub and the Christchurch 'Working Men's Crab Eifle Club. The teams were ten men aside, the conditions ten shots at 300 yds and 11 shots at 500 yds. The match resulted in a win for Kaiapoi by 51 points. Following were the scores:
