A offender was fined 6e, in default 24 tours' imprisonment. THEFT. "William Henry Smith (Mr W. J. Hunter) was sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment for theft of a pair of Koote, valued at £2 10s, from the eh op of Thomas Woods. The Magistrate stated that shop lifting was too common a crime to be met by a fine. On a. charge of failing to maintain his wife tho time accused was remanded to appear at Dunedin on December 19th. JUVENILE COURT. (Before Mr t. E. McCarthy, S.il.) Hollw (his wife), and was sentenced to one yew's imprisonment with hard labour. Ruth M. Hollis, who was charged with permitting the use of a, certain instrument on her, was found not guilt.y.
