WALTHAM SOLDIERS' MEMORIAL.

SCHOOL FETB. A very successful fete was held at tho Waltham School on- Saturday afternoon in aid. of the Waltham-Opawai Park Gafe Memorial Fund. There was a large attendance; and great interest was shown in the variouß exhibits of flowers, cookery, and children's woik. The stalls did good business, and money was raised by various competitions, in addition to an art union for a prite of two .pictures presented by Mr xj. J* Langley. , The fete was officially opened by the Hon. G. J. Smith, M.L.C., who was introduced by Mr C. Harvey, chairman, of tho School Committee.
