MISS MACDONALD'S PUPILS.

SECOND DANCE RECITAL. On Saturday evening, at the Choral Hall, Miss Macdonald's pupils gave t-Beir second performance before a packed and enthusiastic "house." So many hundreds were unable to obtain admission on either night that it has been decided to repeat the recital this evening. Over forty items in one nights show meant good stage management, and this was forthcoming in ampio measure, eacii turn following in such quick succession that overy available moment was utilised, and Mr Eoland Smith, the stage manager, is to bo complimented on his success. Misses Iris Edmonds, Nan Audibert, Louie lies, an<i Ella Preutor, among the senior girls,, each performed splendidly, Miss Edmonds excelling herself in the eccentric dance, and in the dance of the Apaches, two very contrasting items. Misses Audibert and Ilea were especially effective in the Russian dance, and in the Death dance Miss Ella. Prenter gave a most artistic rendering of a trying scene. The little Rosebuds, tho Chicken ballet, and the Bubble ballet, comprising the smaller children, won the affections and applause of the audience from tho start. Misa Arline Power, in the Pirouette, danced with a cleverness and skill that was most pleasing to witness. Of the others special mention should be made of Pearl Black, in "Feather Your Nest"; skirt dance, Joan Potter; "I Want to Snuggle," Joan Meikl® and Bobbie McCaughren; Dance ot the Follies, Enid Lav/eon; a toe dance, "La Petite," Doreen OMiver; "Au-Fait," Mae Quicke; Danes of the Flames, Peggy Nelson; toe dance, Adeline Belston; Spider and Rose, Ngaio Chaffey and Lila. Bntv; and an old favourite at these Tecitals, Master Jimmy Grieve, in Scotch &ong3, given in his own clever and inimitable style. Miss Macdonald'a orchestra was a groat asset iu the success of the evening, and under the capable and efficient leadership, of Mrs W. O. S. Adam did all that was necessary to make a crowded programme eminently successful.
