(By WUe—Pie« A»sooi4tlanr-GopyriflA.) ("The Times.")
LONDON, December 1. "The Times" says that as a remit of the great increase in the u» of the All-llcd cables, proposals are under official consideration for tho duplication of the Pacific Bection. Over 9,000,000 paying words have been transmitted this year, more than double the number of transmissions before tho war. The estimated cost of duplication » between £3,000,000 and £4,000,000 Various alternatives are suggested to reduce the cost, notably between Fanning Island and Honolulu including linking up with the American cables, but this is contrary to the basic id«a of an All-Red* cable.
