It is stated that hia decision is duo to the high British taxation, which hn» practically left him to conduct Government House from hia own prirat* means. HOBART, December 2. Sir William Allardyco has decjded t« make a visit to England. The announcement is made that he will no* return to Tasmania, the reason gnren for this Btep being the inadequacy of the official salary to meet the expense* of Government House, necessitating art drawing considerably on his private means. BRISBANE, December 2. The Treasurer announced his intention to introduce a Bill to abolish the position of State Governor. He kM the people could safely expect that tn« Governorship would be abolished WT shortly.
