SHEEP DOGS AT RAILWAY STATIONS.
TO THE XMTOB OF "TBS PRESS." Sir,—Cannot wine provision be made at railway stations tor the reception and safe keeping of sheep dogs (often of *reat value) sent by rail or travelling with their owners? At present, a carrier cannot leav 6 them at the station, even on the day they are to travel and "the unfortunate owner has to lead t&em through crowded streets and, unless the train is readv to start, has to tie them up on the platform and watch them. - The porters do their best to help, but that is rot enough; It would seem to b e a simple matter for a State railwav to provide accommodation for valuable animals which are absolutely necessary to one of the primary industries. \ll that is required is a room or small yard, where dogs could.be tied up and left safety.—Yours, etc., "QUIS CUSTODIET CANOSP"
