FATHER AND SON WOUNDED.
A MILTON SENSATION. (PRESS ASSOCIATION- TELEGRAM.) DUNEDIN, November 30. An unfortunate sequel' to the marriage of a youthful pair occurred at Mifton to-night. It appears that a youth named Ashley Perry, aged 16 years, and a girl by the name of Milligan, aged 17.years, both of them residents of Milton, were married on Tuesday * afternoon. The girl had obtained her father's consent to the marriage, but apparently the girl's mother and brothers were not informed that the marriage was to take place. To-night one of the brothers, Arthur Milligan, armed with a Winchester repeating rifle loaded with twelve cartridges, went to the residence of Ashley Perry's uncle and aunt and fired at Perry, who was standing at the gate. The bullet struck him in the second finger of the right hand. His screams brought the others outsido, and Ashley Perry, senior, father of the youth, rushed to close with Milligan, who fired again, the bullet entering Perry, senior's shoulder. Milligan attempted to fire further shots, but t\Q rifle apparently jammed and he bolted, but was subsequently arrested.
