PHILLIPSTOWN SCHOOL FAIR.

The Phillipstown School Committee met the workers on Tuesday evening, when final arrangements were made for the grand fair and baby show to be held in the school grounds on Saturday afternoon. Two very handsome silver cups have been presented for competition in the baby .show, and entries are being received- from as far north aa Kaiapoi. There is to be a variety of stalls, and the best of refreshments will be procurable on the wounds. It io anticipated that there will be a attendance lo patronise the stalls and thereby assist the committee in its efiorts to provide a model playground. There will be a brass band in attendance, and numerous competitions will take place during the afternoon.
