An article of great interest was discovered at a recent auction sale in Ihinedin (states tho "Star"). It was the. clock brought out_to Xew Zealand iu till© ship John "Wicklifie by-the Captain Cargill—a double-wheeled French dock enclosed in a beautifullycarved mahogany frame. The clock haa passed through'several hands. It was cleaned several times, ty an old Diinedin watchmaker, who nad. affixed tais label, the last occasion being in 1910 The dealer who bought the clock had,i*J thoroughly., cleaned, and called upon an art connoisseur, wlho paid him a nigh, price for the coveted artic'e, which will he' forwarded to London for Christie's famous auction rooms.
