■Wing-Commander Martin TV. Flack, of the Royal Air Force Medical Service, in a lecture before the Royal College of Physicians, London, said that as it was a great mental effort to many people to jumn straight from bed on a ! cold morning and start performing physical contortions, ho has devised ten I morning exercises modelled on those of Ir. growicg .baby. At> first a baby's esercises consisted of ieg movements. When laid on its back the new-born baby kicked and performed leg movements. Later it tried to sit up and turn over on its hands and knees. Finally it got into tho upright position. Dr. Flack gives the following directions as aids to physical efficiency:—Lying flat, inhale to the fullest extent, at the same time raising the hands above the head. Exhale to the fullest extent, carrying the arms to the side. Repeat five times. Turning down the bedclothes *aise the body five times. Clasping tho hands behiud the head, raisethe leg? as far as possible five times. One will then be ready to get out of bed.
