EVACUATION OF CHRISTIANS. ITALIAN STEAMER'S CONTBABAND. (By Cabie— Pre«g Aswci&Jion—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, November 28. According to an official telegram received in London the Christians in Cilicia are beginning to emigrate in large numbers. It is expected that at least 50,000 will leave the country, as they cannot rely on assurances that the Angora Government will be responsible for their safety. Three steamers, crowded with Armenians, have arrived at Alexandria, from Mersina, in Cilicia. It is not yet decided whether they will be permitted to-land. ~* ;
A message from Athens says that an Italian steamer has arrived in £myrna, with Armenian and Greek refugees from Mersina, and that Christians are flocking to Mersina from the interior. (Received November 29th, 7.35 p.m.) ATHENS, November 29. Greek warships stopped and eearched an Italian steamer south of Corfu. They discovered nine aeroplanes and 2,500,000 rifle cartridges. They also arrested a disguised Turkish colonel among the ship's stokers. The shipment was consigned to Adalia.
