CONSIDERABLE DECREASE IN REGISTRATIONS. The number of men registering aa unemployed at the local bureau of the Department of Labour, shows signs of considerable decrease. Five weeks ago there were 159 names on the register; yesterday the number was 81: the majority of these arc ciaswd as unskilled labourers. During the past week tlw Department placed '27—6 nn Government works, and the remainder in private employment; at present the Government works in Canterbury are reported to be fully manned.
