at 3.15 p.m. «n Saturday to Lyttelton. but returned an nour Inter Kid anchored in Worser Bay on account of ft Strong 1 southerly having sprung up. The vessel sailed again at 6.20 p.m. on Sunday, and arrived hero early yesterday morning. She has * cargo of tar for discharge her*, and will then load fox Wellington, for which port eh* may Bail tonight. A radio message received yesterday from the Waitemata, en route from Newcastle to Lyttelton, states that the vessel will arrive in the stream here this evening. She will be here for about six days, and will probably return to Newcastle on completion of discharge. The liner Westmeath should arrive here about the middle of next week from Wellington, to continue discharge of her London cargo. The Waimate arrived at Auckland on Monday from Liverpool, via Panama,. She is due at Lyttelton, via Wellington, towards the end of next week. The Federal steamer Sussex is due hero this morning • from Wellington to continue discharge of her cargo from New York and Montreal. Tho co.ietal steamer Kotare, which has been out of commission at Dunedin fine* last Junt, is to resume running to-morrow, when she will sail for Bluff a.nd From Invoreargill she will proceed-to Wnikawa to load timber for Dunedi»> The Kaikoura' arrived at Colon on November 22nd," en route from Liverpool to New Zealand. She is dive at Auckland on December J Bth. The Mania is expected at Wellington on Saturday from Napier. She is to proceed to Pictcn about December 9th to complete loading, and will rail from there on December 11th for London, via Cape Horn. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Tasmania 6ailed from Cardiff on November 24th for New York, to load for Fremantle, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. She is coming out to Australia via Durban. The death ia announced at Noleon of Mr Thomas Jones, of the Anoh*r Steamship Company's service. He had been with tho company for a period of about forty years, and was a faithful servant and a general favourite with tho travelling public. For many years ho was second mate of the Waverley, and joining the Nikau on her maiden voyage in August, 1909, he served on her continuously until ho cam* ashore ill on June 16th last. His long association with tho Nikau brought hint into contact with tho travelling public, end his fine qualities were known to many. VESSELS WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE OF NEW ZEALAND. The Swedish steamer Nordic, bound to Australia with a cargo of timber, is ashore at Sveen Island. [The Nordio is a steel steamer of 4280 tons gross register, built at Sunderland in 1914. and owned by the Transatlantic Ship owning Co.. Ltd., of Gothenburg*, Sweden. She is a well-known trader to Australia from Scandinavian ports.] GERMAN SHIPBUILDING. ("The Times.") BERLIN, November 28. The #Aligemeine Zeitung ,) states that the German shipyards, in sine months, launched 66 merchant ships, including four of 12,000 tons, for Herr Hugo' Stinnes, ten for the Hamburg-Amerika Line, and others for the Atlantio service. WAINUI DISPUTE SETTLED. MELBOURNE, November 23. A compromise has been effected between the seamen and the Union Company respecting the Wainui' dispute, and the vessel will sail for Wellington to-day.
