THE ABNST-HADFIEIiD EAOS. (SPECIAL TO "THE MUSS.") WANGANUI, November 28. Ideal weather prevailed on Sunday, and a 'big crowd assembled on the river bank to see the scullers out. Punctually at 10.30 HadfieTd and 'his pacer, Archie Sharpe, boarded their craft, and rowed up to Sandy Nook. The return journey wis done in good time, both challenger and pacer rowing in fine style, and pleading both the members of the committee, who were out to see the spin, and the publio. Hadfield is looking awl keeping in tip-top trim. a.ia form is improving every day, and his trainer and many admirers are thoroughly well pleased with the manner in which he is shaping. His blade work is very clean, and the way he is driving his skiff alonfc augur* wen for the future. He certainly has considerable power behind his strokes. During the week he spent a couple of days in the country doing plenty of walking and hill climbing, thoroughly enjoying th« change from the daily routine ot river, work. Arnst journeyed to "Wellington during last week, being away only a couple of days. The public have seen the last of him on the lower reaches, as he has now gone to hie camp on the championship course. Those in close touch with Arnst know that his form 6 all that could be desired, that he is nearly back to the weight at which he will row, and Thai his work from now on will be to get Jtiio {aat form that will enable him to low one of the best races he has ever rowed.
