CANTERBURY CENTRE. A meeting of the Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Amabur Athletic Association was held laet evening. There were present— Messrs A. L. Chappell (in the chair), P. Mensies, R. Beattie, S. Cor, F. E. BlackmoTe, W. C. Flewellyn, G. Wilkinson, G. G. Lockwood l , and M. ;Ballito (Hon. secretary). Several minor details in connexion with the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Meeting, to be ■ held at Lancaster Park on Friday and Saturday, December Oth and 10th, were "discussed. '; The Springfield Athletic Club applied for affiliation, aJtd forwarded the programme for a sports meeting to be held oib Springfield Domain on December 16th. .The application was recommended to the New Zealand Council for. approval, and the sports programme was approved. The Darfield Athletic Association's programme was als» approved. A conference of, delegates to the Council is to be held in Christehurch at 10.30 a.m. on December 9th. Messrs Ballin, Cox, and Beattie were appointee! delegates from the Canterbury Centre. . The following remits were .passed for consideration by the Conference:—That the Council draw up, a set. of rule's for the various clubs; that the three-mile walk be deleted from the championships; that a scheme bo drawn, up for North and. South Island trial championship meetings prior to the holding of the Dominion, championship meeting* The prices of admission ,for the championship meeting were fixed u follows eaoh day: Enclosure 2s, bank* Is, children half price.
