Further destructive hush fires are reported to be sweeping wide areas cf the western pastoral districts, where the grass, following a good season, is exceptionally abundant. In some places the wheat areas have been invaded. So far the damage to the wheat is not serious, but there are grave fears of further inroads. . Farmers have been organised for fire fighting.
