PORTY.NINE MEN SWORN IN. (PRESS AI9OCUTIO!* TBI.JWIUM.) WELLINGTON, November 28. The ranks of the pohco fo.ee were augmented to-day by a larj/e draft of 49 men from the trn'inng depot. The men were sworn in Ijv superintendent Norwood, aud were sutvxqumtly posted to the four main citus ot the Dominion. Since- the new scheme fitting recruits for the force was biought into operation, the type of young men offering has bten particularly gjoi. Those comprising to-day's dr«ut uorc an excellent physical ■ nppcaran e. During the past three months tne men have ken training under ine supervision of •Sub-Inspector JUc.Vamara. 'lhe new recruits commence their training at the barracks next month.
