SPORTING.

Martian "Princess, who was sent to , Svdnev on a visit to imported j tack, 'has produced a colt ioal to KUbroney. The suspension of C. Sinclair and L. Manam bv the -Wnangarei Racing Uuo has been" reduced from three to two months. This remission will enab.e, them to ride at the Auckland Summer Mooting. v Our Di'.nedin correspondent telegraphs that the Foibury Park Trotting Club is just finishing the expenditure of about £OOCO in so altering and reconstructing the appointments ot tne Park as to thoroughly modernise all the arrangement? for the conducting of the spcrt,°and at the same time provide lor tiiie pleasure and comfort of the public. Blue Dun, the winner of the Manchester November Handicap, ran second to S:v.-a«on in the Kemptoii Park Jubilee Handicap last spring, third in tho Con-natinn Cup at Epsom to Silvern and Abbot's Trace, and was unplacedin tho IXw.aster Cud. won by Fianibovant, Tn each case being well supposed, at the St. Leger Meeting. Her two previous suc-esses this season were gained in the Ellcsmere Stakes, in which there were only three starters, and in the Dullingham Plate, which was reduced to a match. Both these races were at Newmarket, and in each Bluo Dun w»s a good odds-on favourite. No Canterbury horses have been nominated at the Manawatu Racing Club's Summer Meeting. If one may judge from the nominations the Palmerston North Club should get good fields, despite all tne counter-attractions of the holiday season. ISvcnty-four remain in the Palmerstor. North Stakes after the first forfeit. bi\t it is certain that the majority have been lefi in owing to oversight. Tatau ?;itau \< tho only representative from the south.

The of tihe introduction of the roeai flag \yas again iii evidence on the second day of the Takapuna Meeting- In the opening event, owing to a mischance, the harrier was released and half tho horses completed the course. With the flac system in use these horses could hsve been pulled up inside two lurlongs at most. Dovelet nnd Pavo have had their fortunes entwined of late. In the Short* Handicap at Ellerslie Pavo was the winner, with Dovelet in third place; in the Epsom Handicap on the same course Pavo and Dovelet were respectively second and third to Anomaly; and in the Cheltenham Handicap at Takapuna Dovelet was the winner with Pavo just a head away.

The progenv of Blu© Tit (dam of Westward Ho "and Blue Dun) ha/ve realised since 1913 the sum of 36,235 guineas. This mare has reared a foal every year since 1912, so that in every way she has proved a decided asset. Students of form are reminded that "Form at a Glance," which is invaluable as a reference, is to be published about the middle of December. All essential details are included in both racing and trotting sections. In order to avoid disappointment, orders should be sent in early to the publishers, the Christchurch' Press Co., Ltd.

TROTTING NOTES. Nominations for the New Brighton T.C.'s 1924 New Zealand Derby Stakes, and e. payment of 1 sov for the 1922 New Zealand Derby Stakes are due on Thursday at noon. Nominations for the Auckland T.C.'s Summer Meeting close on Friday. Yesterday was an off morning at Aldington, and very little work of importance was done. A. Fleming was an early worker, and sent Don Wild, Koniniwood, and the three-year-old Gracie Thorpe a strong mile and a half, Don Wild and Gracie Thorpe showing to the best advantage. D. Withers gave Coil and Gladey© strong work, and both moved with plenty of freedom. The pair leave for Dunedin to-da^. Wandering Willie (harness) covered several circuits at a sound pace, as also did Grand Denver. D. Woods drove Final Leave a mile an? a half, wliich the Haiold Dillon gelding did in nice style. The trotter Mangoutu worked two miles without a mistake. Since going into J. Mc&eary's stable the daughter of Galindo has improved considerably in manners, ana now looks like reproducing the promise she showed a oouple of seasons ago. Nipper did steady exercise. He looks in nice oondition, and is being got ready for tho West Coast fixtures.

Lady Joan paced evenly over a journey. It was Mr Morland's intention, to laca the Logan Pointer' mare at Auckland next month, but the idea has been abandoned, and she will carry his colours at Ashburton and Canterbury Park. Dolly Dillon (T. G. Fox) moved pleasingly over a couple of circuits. She is in good buck's, and looks like coming to hand early. Others that did useful exercise were Dillon S., Dimligbt, Dillon Shine, Sunred, Albertoria, Culverdcn, Carbinia, Lady Freda, Rafferty. Whispering Willie, Mako Mako, Both, ino, Lady Lena, Blue Drift, and Colchester. Hickorywooct is now in work at Addingtoa under, the oare of E. Carhpon. ' Recent additions to D. withers's team are Guess, Florence la Badie, and a five-year-old mare by Galindo from Silvery. Bed Heather is training on the right way, and now looks like rewarding hie trainer, A. Cox, for the time and attention he has paid to the Rothschild gelding since he broke down.

' Silver Nut is having a ohort spell prior to being ■ put into work for the Canterbury Park Meeting.

AUSTRALIAN TKOTTERS. FIVE BB.OUGHT TO AUCKLAND. The, Ulimaroa, which arrived at Auckland from Sydney last -week, brought a collection of five irottere to Auckland, and all going well,' it is the intention of their respective . owners to have them in competition at the Auckland Trotting Club's Summer Meeting next month. The most noteworthy of the Australian division transported to Auckland is Grand Voyage, an aged Btallion by First Voyage (imp.), from Blonde Grattan (imp.). Grand Voyage has a number of good performances to his chedit, and a brace of winning exploits at Epping (N.S.W.), recently brought him into marked prominence. In a reference to Grand Voyage, who ifl owned by the Belmont Stud Farm (Victoria), and is driven by the veteran Victorian reinsman, P. B. Glasheen, the Sydney "Referee" remarked:—"Quite the feature of a good day's sport at Epping was the form of Grand Voyage (iate Bonnie Voyage), an aged black stallion by First Voyage, from Blonde Grattan. This Melbourne visitor, who is no stranger to Epping, is a magnificent stamp of horse, and a square trotter. In winning a, Flying division in 2min 31iseo he knocked ljsec off the unhoppled record for the race, established in September, 1916, by that fine pacing mare, Amie Daly. And in doing so ho showed the fine rate of 2min lajseo. He was penalised 2aec for the Epping Handicap (2min 22sec) of 1J miles and 12«vds, and in beating the hoppled pacers in "Smin 29Jseo did ljaec better than the time of Mountain King K who, last December, dethroned Maori Land as the record holder for the race: And here he bettered his Flying rate by isec, showing 2inin 13seo dead for the trip." Tradesman and Stormy Voyage,' who also hail from Melbourne, are in the same stable as Grand Voyage. Boss Trevor, a straight-out trotter, and Dick Dillon are a brace of horses from New South Wales.
