Archdeacon Wakeford declares that the woman he showed over the Cathedral has been found with other evidence which will prove his innocence. He is attempting to lodge a further appeal, for which the sanction of the King and the Archbisiiop of Canterbury is necessary. [Archdeacon Wakeford, who was charged with .having misconducted himself with a woman, was deprived of his benefices by the verdict of the Consistory Court. This was the mildest of the three possible sentences, leaving tho Archdeacon free to act in other dioceses. The Archdeacon finally appealed to the Privy Council, but the appeal was dismissed. The Lord Chancellor read one of the longest judgments 'on record, covering i>4 oloselyprinted pages, and occupying over 90 minutes in delivery. Ho said there was riot a scrap of evidence to support the theory of conspiracy, which was set up during the hearing of the appeal.
