OBITUARY.
; The death took place at Wellington on Saturday, after a serious illness, of Mr W. Beauchamp-Platts, at the age of 56 years. Deceased, who was a son of Mr E.. Beauchamp-JL'latte, was born at Harrow, England,, and came out to New Zealand 35 years ago. He settled in the Manawatu district, and later removed to Wellington and joined the Treasury Department, in which he served for twelve years. He retired from the Treasury to take up th© appointment of chief accountant for Messrs J. H. Bethune and 00. In 1909, or three years later, he entered into business on his own account as a public accountant and company secretary. Among the more important bodies of which he was secretary were the New Zealand Institute of Architects and the Automobile Association of New Zealand. He was a prominent Freemason. He is survived by his widow.
