THE NEW HEBRIDES.

In the House of Representatives Mr Hughes submitted an offer by a French company in the New Hebrides. The company desires to sell the whole of the French interests in about half the New Hebrides to Australia for £500,000. It is stated that Japan and America are anxious to purchase the interest. Mr Hughes said hj& was personally opposed to the plan, mainly on account of the Condominium administration. He also doubted whether a clear title was. obtainable.
