A message from : Victoria (British Columbia) says the, Minister for Lands has announced that 1000 families from the British Isles will come to British Columbia to settle on 20,000 acres in the Stuart Lake region. Owing to the absence of snow on the Swiss Alps, it is hoped to recover the body of Lord Frederick Douglas, who was killed in 1865 during Whymper's first ascent of the Matterhorn. Karlsruhe newspapers allege that the Bavarian Nationalists decided last Spring to assassinate Herr Erzeberger and Dr. Rathenau, Minister of Reconstruction.
