The Wrajatai is due on Thawsctefy next with general cargo from Auckland direct. The Wanaka arrived yesterday morning' from Timairu, and is to «aitt at noon today for Napier, Gisborne, and' AuoMiand. The Waikouaiti is expected to etrrre at Lytielton from Newcastle and Sydney, via Bluff and Dunedin, at the end of next week. The Kanna is to load on Tuesday for New Plymouth, Westport, and Greyimouth. The Waiotapu, with American cargo, Including case oil and newsprint, i 3 due here about November 16th from San Francisco, via Auckland and Wellington. From heme she goes to New Plymouth, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney. It has been reported that the Anchor Shipping Company has purchased the Mapcurika from the Union Steam Ship Company for the Wellington, Picton, and Nelson run. Mr W. A. It will present a draft convention on lie subject to the conference. Special provision is made for Japan and India, fixing the minimum age at 16 yearn on a certificate of physical fitness being' provided, and a guarantee that the youth will be employed only on ships restricted' to coastal traffic. About eleven o'clock last night a fire was discovered in the Northern Steamalhap Qo.'s steamer Ngapnhi, which is lying in fie Calliope Dock. Tie stewards' quarters and the steerage cabin were burnt out, and the remainder of the after portion of the vessel was more or lees damaged.
