abandonment of dominion MEETING-. (press association txlegeah.) ■WELLINGTON, November 2. Mr MTatehall, chairman of the New Zealand Bifle Clubs' executive, speaking about the decision not to hold a Dominion Bifle Association Meeting in March next, stated the -unexpected news would come as a great disappointment to riflemen, aa arrangements had been made for next year's meeting to be one of the most important for many years. The Australian authorities had announced' their intention of sending a team to compete, and in addition, the Australian and Commonwealth Council of Rifle Associations had axed the Gordon Highlanders InterState Match to be fired at Trentham next March. Mr Marshall stated that in the Championship Belt matches last year at all ranges up to SCO yards, the "tin hat" target, which was used for the King's Priie at Bisiey, and which had been adopted by the British Army authorities as the "standard service target for the British Army," was used. Thus evidence was supplied that the Dominion -tvaeociatxon irae. justifying - its existence. \
