IRISH PEACE OFFER.
THE LONDON CONFERENCE. ANOTHER ADJOURNMENT. (By Cable— Press Association—Copyright.) (Australian -\"7. Cable Association.) LONDON, October 13. The Irish Conference has adjourned till to-morrow. The fact that Lord Stamfordham (Private Secretary to the King) arrived at Downing street shortly after the adjournment and remained for some time is being commented upon, as is also the action by the police in dispersing ihe crowds at Irish demonstrations, on the ground lliat they were interfering with the traffic. The demonstrators quietly acquiesced. (Received October 14th, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, October 13.. Tlie ''Daily Telegraph" says the expressions of the Irish delegates immediately after the Conference suggested that the discussion had been animated. This view was supported by the answer Michael Collins gave to an American journalist who asked: "When are you coming back?" Collins quickly retorted: "I am not coming hack." Mr Arthur Griffiths, however, tactfully leaned out of tho car and said "W T o are coming back to-morrow morning." The "Telegraph" adds that the Britiish Government takes a serious view of the Sinn Fein announcement that Republican Courts will sit all over Ireland. It is untrue to say a crisis has yet been reached but the differences are pronounced. ARRESTS BY KBPTTBLIOAN POLICE LONDON, October 13. Republican police, driving up in motor-cars, seized a number of youths at Drumcondia and drove away. It is reported that there will bo sensational revelations when the arrested youths are tried in the Republican Court now sitting in Dublin.
