Charleoote led into the straight in the Debutant Stakes and. won comfortably from the outsider Bawra. Caserto was a close third. Charlecote cost ISO guineas, and has started twice, being unbeaten. The time was a second outside the race record* Charlecote is engaged ia the Maribyrnong Plate. There was a heavy shower before the race for the Caulfield Stakes, and horses and riders were drenched. It was fine for the actual race. Eurythmio and Tangalooma made the pace to the straight, where Eurythmio went on and won comfortably from Tangalooma. The winner wa» cheered.
