OUTBREAK AMONGST OHAT7 2XAOBIS-

(rKESS ASSOCIATION TttTOBAM.) LEVIN, October 8. An outbreak of pneumonio influenza is reported from the Native Muhananoa West, near Ohau. The outbreak is stated to be of a serious character; a fatal case was recorded in the middle of last month, the victim being a school girl. The disease has developed since then at different points, and two mow deaths of young children lhavo occurred. The outbreak was not notified to the Health Authorities until this week, when the District Medical Officer found fourteen cases amongst the adults and children.

The authorities took prompt measures. A marquee for a, temporary Hospital was erected yesterdaiy, and all the cases are being colleoted to-day. Nurse Lewis, Government Native nurse at Opaki, has been put in charge of the hospital. The pa has been isolated-
