BUBONIC PLAGUE.
THIRD DEATH IN QUEENSLAND. (By Cable—Press Association—Copyright.) (Australian and N._. Cable Association.) BRISBANE, September 23. A third death is reported from plague, the victim being a younjj girl in Townsville. (Received September 23rd, 10.15 p.m.) BRISBANE, September 23. The Lytton quarantiae station is being prepared for use as a plague isolation hospital. No fresh cases are reported.
INTEOTED BATS IN SYDNEY. . SYDNEY, September 23. Another rat infected with plague has been found on the wharf vacated by the Wyreemo. Dr. Armstrong explained that there was no cause for panic. The outbreak would not be Bevere, even if it did occur. CEUSADE AGAINST RATS. (Received September 28rd, 10.15 p m.) HOBART, September 23. The Health authorities have decided to offer sixpence per head for dead rats. PRECAUTIONS IN WELLINGTON. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGHAM.) WELLINGTON, September 23. As a precautionary measure against the introduction of plague, the Health authorities will not permit the Ulimaroa to berth on her arrival from Sydney tomorrow afternoon. Passengers, with their hand luggage, will land by tender to-morrow. The Ulimaroa will berth on Monday.
