A committee reported in favour of compulsory notification. by doctors, but to be by number, or other symbols, and not by name, except where it was advisable, in . the interests of public health, to disclose the name, and that officere of the Health Department should be under a bond of secrecy. There was strong opposition to the report, some members objecting to notification, and favouring tfao oxtension of clinics. Eventually, tlie re? port was referred back to the committee for further information.
