NOTES AND MEMORANDA.

Miss Florence Young will give ft- talk on "From Cannibalism to Christianity," a story of missionary effort in the Solomon Islands, in Everybody's Theatre to-morrow night. Owing to repairs and overhaul, Lake Coleridge power will be cut off from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. to-morrow in Spreydon, Cashmere, Beckenham, and St. Martins, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Woolston, Sumner, Heathcote county and Lyttelton borough. The usual weekly dance will be held in the Coronation Hall, Domain terrace, Spreydon, to-night. The preachers at Wesley Church, Fitzgerald avenue,- to-morrow (home mission day) will be the Rev. J. Napier Milne at 11 a.m. and the Rev. W. Ready at 6,30 p.m. At the evening service Miss Bilcliff will siiv the sacred solo, 'Come Unto Sim" (Handti). Special Sunday school anniversary services at the Sydenham Baptist Church to-morrow will be conducted by the Rev. E. Chard at 11 a.m., the Rev. J. D. Webster at 2.45 p.m., and the Rev. J. K. Archer at 6.30 p.m. The choir and scholars, assisted by orchestra, will contribute special anthems. In the Durham street Methodist Church to-morrow home mission sermons wjU be preached by the Rev. Percy Paris in tho morning, and in the evening by the Re-.-. E. D. Patchett. The choir wi'J sins "Grant, we Beseech Thee." The soloist will be Mr Gallop. Special offerings will be taken up on behalf of the home missions.
