PESTIVAL NEXT TEAS. A meeting of the committee of the Royal Chriatohurch Musical Society was held in tho Durham street Schoolroom last evening, when the following were present:— Mesdaines Grower-Burns and Menziea, Dr. Bradshaw, Messrs Lucas, Maohin, Owen, Roberts, Schmidt, Smith, 'and Venables. Hi Maohin was in tho ohair. The director reported that negotiations had taken place with Duncdiu and Wellington Societies with reference to a suggested postponement of the Festival for a yoar, in view of the altered financial position of the country. It was una-nimouely decided to proceed with the Festival next year, as previously arranged, and that the Festival Sub-com-mittee he asked to prepare worJsing plans for the Festival, including a. guarantee fund of JEaOpO. The director was asied to prepare a list of Festival eub-oommittees. The resignation of Mr H. Antill Adley (chairman) was received with regret. > It was decided to place on record the society's keen appreciation of hia long and valued services. The appointment of a chairman wad held over until next meeting. It was et&ted that the credit balance of No. 1 account was £IOB 7e 2d, and of No. 3 account (Benevolent Fund) £873 8s Bd.
