HYDROGLIDER ON THE THAMES.
-A- strange little craft war seen recently'by nundreda of people,: between Putney and Westminster, skimming •long the -surface of the Thameaat the high speed of 40 knots. This mystery ship was a ; De. Lambert hytfragiiher, and the man at the wheel was the Duke of York. The Duke hbarded the boat n't Putney Pierj and 'after making an; inspection of her. took a passage to Westminster for-an exhibition trip. ■ So delighted was he with thecxperi«nce.ihat soon after the start he decided'to steer .the vessel himself. He ran the;craft at a great speed for a distance of Jour: or five miles. : In less than! ten minutes the boat covered l.he complete distance of seven and , n half miles, and arrived far ahead of - the Dulse's motor-car, which had left: Putney for Westminster at about the i same tftne. 'A spded of ;about SO knots has been attained by the hydroglider oh other trial trip 3,' said Mr S.
